Metoprolol weight gain

I recently heard that weight gain came with Metoprolol and I would agree. Have just upped the dosage and wonder if that will contribute even more weight gain....talking about five pounds over the past year. Seems probable that lowered heart rate might affect how well exercise keeps me at a set weight? Question is, how can I lose that weight without devoting hours to the gym! Usually I walk or use bike like equipment.

I'm on Metoprolol and over the last few years I've actually lost about a stone in weight. Start by gradually reducing the amount on your dinner plate, that's what helped me, now I have quite small dinners and stop eating when I'm full no matter how nice the food is.

Good Morning

Everyone will respond to medications differently, and it may take some time for your body to adjust to a new medication and could potentially cause a few side effects soon after beginning them. I have taken the opportunity to research 'Metoprolol' for you; nhs.uk/medicines/metoprolol/

If you find have any questions about the prescribed medication, please speak to your doctor at your next opportunity.

Kind regards
