Anyone actually cured the skipped heartbeats?

I have read a lot of topics on here in relation to skipped heartbeats and flutters, so most of the replys seem to be that they can't be stopped, at least it looks that way.I would love to hear from anyone who has successfully stopped them. And how they did it!

I need some inspiration and hope, mixed with good advice from those that have been able to stop this horrible mess.

Hi there If you’re talking about ectopic beats or premature ventricular contractions then there are 2 proven ways which can stop them. One is ablation which is pretty successful but not for everyone. Second is medication. First line usually betablockers which seem to be 50;50 in terms of success. Didn’t work for me personally but Flecainide which is an anti-arrythmic has worked brilliantly . This will only be prescribed if you don’t have underlying heart disease. Finally magnesium supplements work for some. Hope this helps. Best wishes

hi, I posted just couple of weeks ago that mine have greatly reduced since took major lifestyle change and took 3 months off work to reduce stress, practice yoga and meditation and cut out sugar, sweeteners, as well as alcohol and caffeine that I’d already stopped. Also lost 4% body weight so far. After an unsuccessful ablation in January, I was still getting thousands ectopics daily and going into AF at least once a week. Nearly 3 months later I get about 5 mins episode of something between 6-7pm (must be my Flecainide starting to wear off) and that’s it. I feel like a new woman. Can exercise again now too without fatigue or excessive sweating.

I’ve put up with AF and other arrythmias for for 3 years which is minimal to some people on here but at age 48 now I couldn’t deal with this any longer so I had to do something. Positive attitude also which I’ve now found in myself.

Hoping it continues when I return to work next month 🤞🏻

Hope all this helps show it can be done! Take care 😁

My doc suggested the flecainide. Beta blockers didn't work.Hesitant due to side effects

If you haven't already done so, look at Roemheld Syndrome. This is my problem, can't cure it but can reduce the effects of swallowing air. Worst culprits are fizzy drinks, sipping hot drinks with air intake and, oddly, talking a lot. I need to burp regularly and pass wind to reduce pressure on the vagus nerve and heart.

how were you diagnosed and what exactly are you doing?

Self diagnosed. Am in UK, few seem to know about RS. I have ectopics every day but one trigger is wind trapped, I think, in the oesophagus. Another is bowels, I often have an ectopic followed immediately by a gurgle in my bowels, I think in large intestine. Burping helps, stomach massage releases gas, bowel movement helps. I avoid swallowing air where possible, no fizzy drinks, careful with hot drinks (every sip can have a big mouthful of air to cool it), don't gulp food. For some reason I swallow air if I talk a lot. 3 years ago I had an ectopic every 4th beat, sometimes every 2nd beat for 48 hours. Don't know why. Can't cure it but I have it under control, for now.

thanks for this tip. I will have to observe what I’m doing to see if it’s a possibility

I actually have a past post on RS. I have seen the link between heart and stomach. You are right in every sense.

Magnesium Citrate supplement, 200mg twice a day. I had 10% missed beats for 6 months but returned to normal after a week on Magnesium. I continue to take it as a preventative.

Thank you everyone for your advice and comments. It means a LOT!!
