Afib Diagnosis

Hi all, new member here would really appreciate your thoughts. Was told I had AFib awaiting leg surgery prior to being put under anaesthetic in July this year.

Doctor immediately placed me on 5mg of Bisoprolol and Edoxaban 60 mg. Referred to cardiologist in July still on waiting list.

Anyway 2 weeks was leaving the swimming pool with my son and had blurred vision which lasted for 5 mins approx. No dizziness etc just blurred vision which resolved itself.

Informed GP of this and referred to TIA stroke team whom I met on friday past.

Awaiting mri results, ecg was fine.

My thinking is this is purely down to the medication as recently I've had difficulty sleeping, had a slight fuzzy feeling in my head and frequent urination at night.

Anyone have similar experiences to this? Going for blood and vascular tests tomorrow. A bit concerned tbh.

Thanks.

Since slow afib was diagnosed in my early 60's ( am 75 ... which culminated in pace-maker implant 3 months ago, thus no more afib ), were occasions when medications did not fare well with me. Side effects had undue influence on quality of life. Each instance, eventually fitting prescription was found.

You said your ECG was 'fine', so no AF?Could your blurred vision after swimming just be from chlorine?

The TIA doctor instructed me to have an ecg (Afib diagnosis was in july) as routine I gather. It was from this the doctor halved my 5mg bisoprolol. I suggested chlorine however given my current status I was informed it must be investigated on the basis it being a TIA. Today though the vascular tests were normal as were blood tests for cholesterol. Awaiting mri results. Some might say I'm way off the mark on this one. I had to go to my GP after the blurred vision episode as it wasnt normal, well to me it wasn't.

I have been taking Bisoprolol for years with no problems. The patient leaflet does not mention blurred vision as a side effect.
