Hi, I'm writing today regarding poor or disrupted sleep and how this relates to atrial fibrillation episodes and frequent ectopics. I had a catheter ablation 2 years ago. I haven't had a bad AF episode since then but I have noticed that when I haven't slept well I get more ectopics. Is this a common occurrence, do any of you have had the same experience? I haven't been able to find any literature on this topic. I would like to print anything that is available somewhere to discuss the matter with my GP. Thanks. M

Poor/disrupted sleep
I've found that poor / disrupted sleep does indeed lead to AF and ectopics. I'm sure that many would agree. Poor sleep is responsible for so many ailments.
Hello Martgai
AF affects many individuals differently, everyone will have their own triggers, sometimes a change in routine, feeling under the weather, anxiety and medications can all cause insomnia and trigger ectopics. If you have noticed changes in your AF symptoms, consider contacting your doctor.
