Ectopics and sleep

So I suffer with ectopics which have become more frequent and I’m seeing a cardiologist next week but what I’m finding is that they are becoming more noticeable when I go to bed and I’m not getting a restful nights sleep as a result which I’m pretty sure is making them worse. I’m taking magnesium which seems to be doing nothing for the ectopics if I’m honest. Has anyone else experienced an increase in them when going to sleep? What do you do to ignore them/reduce them?

Hi there., my ectopics recently got much worse. I had a 24 hrs test. I ask the cardiologist what they were like when I was asleep he said they were worse. I reckon that’s why I don’t get a decent nights sleep. Mine are better when I’m more active.

Hi yes mine are better when I’m active too but as soon as I rest or go to bed they become more frequent. Today has been a particularly rubbish day for them. Has your cardiologist made any recommendations?

Ablation or flecanide or live with it.

Stress is a factor and it seems they can be a cause but not sure it’s the whole story. Also do you want to be taking drugs when it could be stress ? I’m not so sure.

No. I’m really not sure it’s nit my stomach causing it. Doing more tests in my stomach.

Hi,

Can only sympathise unfortunately. Away on a cycling holiday and last night had a bad stomach and just had a whole night with no sleep. Every time I lie down and try to sleep they start up. It's like having some elbow you in the ribs every time you start to doze off. Will let you know if I find an answer!

I'm on pill-in-pocket fleccanide as my AF is very sporadic. Was on beta blocker for a couple of months but I think it made eptopics worse.

Feel your pain I have suffered with ectopics for years recently got worse having up to 10 in a row every 15 minutes upped mg beta blocker have had up to ten hours respite only in the last few days. Was awake last night for five hours. Shattered today. Worse at night because you have nothing to distract you. Have been assured they are not serious! Waiting on another consult with my cardiologist. Knowing other people have the same makes me feel a bit more re-assured although not at four in the morning!
