I’ve been having this fluttering feeling in the centre of my chest for quite a few days, it started happening in the evening so I thought it was just because I was tired , the last couple of days I’ve noticed it happening throughout the day too , it always starts up if I’ve carried or lifted something . Now it feels as if this fluttery feeling is by my pacemaker too. I have a very annoying cold that’s causing lots of pain in my ears but apart from that I feel fine . I have ectopic beats but this feels less if there’s a butterfly inside fluttering its wings . Have others had this fluttering feeling , if so did you seek medical advice . As it’s a bank holiday the gp is closed until tomorrow and I don’t feel it warrants going to the out of hours drs which will be so busy as it’s in the A& E dept so I know I’d be in for a very long wait .

Fluttering sensation in chest
I had a fluttering in my chest for many months and it was thought to be anxiety. It felt like what we called butterflies when I was younger, which I got before any exciting / anxious event. Turned out to be Atrial Flutter that was diagnosed by an ECG, a clear “saw tooth” on the trace. Worth mentioning to GP and seeing if you can get a trace whilst it’s happening. I don’t believe it is picked up in the 2 lead Kardia but may be on the 6 lead. Nit sure if picked up on Apple Watch. Others may be able to confirm.
Hello Westie2012
If you are still experienced symptoms this morning, please contact the Pace Clinic today for advice, it is vital not to ignore any changes or new symptoms. You may find it is related to your body reacting to being under the weather, but always worth double checking.
Kind regards
