I had constant PVCs 24/7 for 6-8 months two years ago. At the time I mentioned to my GP and cardiologist that I felt like I had mucus in the left side of my throat, like post-nasal drip, but they both ignored that and didn't give me any kind of explanation. After starting on HRT (I am in perimenopause) the PVCs completely subsided. I have had to change my HRT recently due to shortages and sadly for me the ectopics are back. I am less scared this time and they are not as bad but I notice the exact same thing with a feeling I need to clear my throat the whole time. This is not the same sensation as when the ectopic beat makes me cough, as I said, it is a feeling like I have post-nasal drip.
I just wondered whether anyone else has this sensation?

I hate that feeling in the throat. I have it more and more lately. I am starting to think that it could be a form of acid reflux as I have a hiatal hernia. Hiatal hernias can sometimes cause that feeling. I noticed that when I drink warm water I can actually feel that mucus lump sort of leave. It doesn't burn my throat though. I do know that a hiatal hernia can cause skipped beats especially after eating. I looked up some symptoms once of having one and it did say something regarding a lump in the throat caused by acid reflux even though you don't experience heart burn. Maybe that might be part of your problem as well. I don't think many GP's or ER doctors know much about the correlation of hiatal hernias and ectopic beats. They usually look at me like I have two heads when I ask them or tell them my symptoms. I hope you can get your HRT sorted out. I couldn't take the synthetic ones, they made my skips worse, when I switched over to bio-identical progesterone cream it seemed to help. I am 66 now and don't use them, but if I did, it would be bio-identical again.
Thanks. I do have a hiatus hernia but have never really had any symptoms apart from early in my peri menopause when my first issue was reflux along with every other digestive issue you can think of. That kind of feeling in my throat was very different. It was really like a lump like something was stuck in my throat. This does not feel anything like that. It feels exactly like post-nasal drip only on one side. I have recently had sinus issues which caused post-nasal drip but that was not associated with ectopics. It literally comes and goes with the ectopics. So weird.
By the way I also found a correlation between indigestion and ectopics. I recall telling my GP that I could cope with the ectopics if we could just get the indigestion to go away.
Hey, can you tell me if PVCs caused you a feeling of suffocation, gas, etc. I've had PVCs for several years and I'm in menopause. I'm thinking maybe it's because of that. All the heart therapy I tried didn't work, but PVCs did for me. they bother me a lot. I have them every day. I take beta blockers, but they don't help me. Doctors say that PVCs are not dangerous, but I can't function normally because of them. My gynecologist gave me HRT in creams to try. To see if I will get better, but I I'm afraid to take this hotmonual therapy because I've read all about side effects from blood clots to heart arrhythmias. I do not know what to do anymore.
