Was wondering does anyone feel sort of lightheaded and sort of generally feeling off after a missed beat the heart episode is very fast but the strange off feeling does hang around for quite a while afterwards.
All I want to do is lie down really which obviously not always possible.
I do take flecainde and verapamil which has lessened these episodes considerably but it still worries me.When it does happen.
Not sure I should worry it’s been happening last 5 years approximately and I’m still here.
Will be turning 61 next birthday.
Thanks for reading my post.
Regards Marty York.

Yes I have the same feelings and other weird ones too. I hate these nasty feelings, quite scary and make me feel awful. They are regular occurences for me. My cardiologist seems unconcerned but then its me feeling them not him.
Sorry to hear that I know exactly how you feel and I don’t think the cardiologist really takes it serious but it’s really debilitating I find when it happens.
I suppose I’ve gone 5 years with it but it’s very inconvenient when it happens
I fully agree, it doesn't seem to get any easier does it. Just had a strange event half an hour ago out of the blue, cant fathom it. Its like living with a time bomb strapped to our chest which may go off to some degree or other at a whim. Very unnerving.
Hiya Has your cardiologist put you on any medication for these ? Like Marty I take flecainide. This drug has all but currd the PVCs for me which were running at 22% of beats previously so I feel very fortunate. I agree they are very debilitating and made me tired and not quite well. Hope there’s a solution for you. Best wishes
Thank you. I have flecainide taken on a “pill in the pocket” basis. I try to save it for my really bad supraventricular tachycardia episodes which cac hospitalise me. Tough gig having all these heart concerns to deal with. So pleased you have found a way to cope with them.
This time around, I have been feeling light headed when having abnormal beats. Usually, I don’t notice the light headed/faintness symptom. I’ve recently had more episodes of these quite close together, hence probably why I feel faint. I hope you’re feeling better since your post.
Marty, as a lifelong suffer of these irregular heart beats, it can be very frustrating. Not sure if you have resolved your issue. If you have seen a cardio and all the test performed have shown this to be benign, then the next thing to do is not worry. Years ago when I really first noticed these extra beats, the first response from my body was anxiety then feeling tired, and sometimes for several hours. My response at that time was panic which is what caused my adrenaline to kick in and make it worse.
These are so many contributing factors to set off these ectopic beats that’s it’s endless. Diet, stress, alcohol, caffeine, and even hormones. If you do not have Afib then that’s a bonus as that should be treated in a different fashion. For me, stress above the norm is always a factor. I’ve taken Verapamil for years and while it does help, it’s not substitute to getting the best sleep, and reducing stress.
Much more to contribute but just wanted to share some general feedback. Hope all is well.
Hi Marty, i am in the same boat as you as regards PVC, when I get them it leaves a feeling on my chest that lingers on for hours and makes me feel tired and in need to lie down. When i am going through a period of PVC i cant do lifting or strength related work as they will increase the PVC and feel very tired. I avoid caffeine, alcohol, stressful things however they dont improve. Cardiologist says not dangerous but you always feel that the next one is going to finish you. Im 65 and had them since my early 20s.
