Anxiety over ectopics.

Morning all.I had a flutter ablation in May all good.My question is does anyone still check pulse overly and I'm in a constant state of anxiety every time the ectopics start seemingly out of the blue that they will fire up the arrhythmia again.Had a very brief followup after 7 months and I'm waiting for a 48 hour monitor. I do have a Kardia and when I feel the ectopics(every one) I do a tracing and it confirms pvcs or pacs.Try as I might I can shift this dread of reaccurance.

Hi, I have loads of ventricular ectopics usually couplets. The 1.25mg Bisoprolol daily worked initially but not much now, after a year. I have an Emay portable monitor and check my pulse on that now and again along with BP (which is fine for an old so and so}. I used to check a lot but just a few times a week now or after execrcise. I think it could be became obsessive. But as I do not feel the extra beats , at all , I think what is the point. I have no syncope though I can not leap up and downstairs like I used to due to getting out of puff more easily.

Is not the Mantra, that ectopics are usually benigh and lots of people have them? ( though not at the amount I have). If they are only now and again then I think you are stressing uneccesarily. Maybe see your doctor for reassurance?

Merry Christmas!

How lucky not to feel the ectopics.I feel every single one. Before my ablation I would have 30 every minute and yes every one felt like a missed beat pause.Awful.

hi Ethel. I've been dealing with PVCs and PACs for 22 years. I was constantly in a state of panic over them! Mine are associated with thyroid issues. I started taking celexa and it helps a lot with the anxiety.

Believe me, after awhile you'll realize that they are harmless and you'll learn to ignore them. I started teaching myself to cough when I felt them starting. Didn't notice them that way.

As long as you're asymptomatic you should be fine. But, always talk to your doctor about any concerns.
