Hi All not posted in a while because everything was going great until now! I had been ill in October with a bad fever which required antibiotics a week after I was off them my palpitations and panic attack came out of nowhere I have had no anxiety for the last 4/5 months it was all going well. Does anyone know if antibiotics can mess up your system and cause palpitations and anxiety all over again? I had no palpitations at all whilst ill for 2 weeks. I am crushing here I had made so many changes and thought I had answers.

palpitations and anxiety
I’m
Not sure of your specific case but I have suffered from palpitations since a viral infection in January and am now on medication (Verapamil) which has helped to calm them. I am just getting over a chest infection for which I have had to have antibiotics and steroids and my palpitations have come back with a vengeance. Handily my sister is a pharmacist and she said it would be unlikely that the antibiotics or steroids are causing the palpitations. I have therefore deduced that it is probably the effect of the infection itself and I hope it will all settle down again as the infection clears up.
sorry to hear your going through this as well. It’s been horrible and I am not sure how to keep living with these. Im tired and scared
I was initially scared by them but have been reassured a number of times that the palpitations are not life-threatening, just unpleasant to deal with. This has helped me to learn to live with them. Perhaps you need to look at treatment for your anxiety as you have mentioned that this too has become a problem for you again.
I am sorry to hear that you have been unwell, sending get well wishes to you. If you have been feeling unwell this can have a knock-on effect on your body and knock you out of kilter for a while, this is while your body is fighting an infection\virus. Some medications may also cause some minor side-effects and can have an adverse effect on the body as the body is adjusting to them. If you are continuing to experiences palpitations, then you should not ignore these and contact your GP at your earliest convenience.
