This morning (June 23, 2022) @ 12:15 am, I had my first Afib episode in 10 months (August 2021), lasting four hours.
My Ablation was performed March 16. I had my 3 month post-ablation appointment this past Monday, June 20 where the 14-day ZIO monitor was attached. I had stopped the flecainide , which I'd been on for over two years, on June 13, a week before that appointment.
Question: Could this episode mean that the ablation wasn't successful or is this, on average, a common part of the process?
Thank you.

It could be linked to you stopping the medication .
Did you have to do that for the appointment , or were told to stop taking it?
I think you should contact your specialists office or their help number , tell them what happened and they will give you the best advice about what to do next.
Try to keep calm while you sort things out or you symptoms could get worse.
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I was instructed to stop the flecainide a week before the appointment. I agree that it was probably because I didn't have the protection of the flecainide which I'd been on for two or three years. That's why I asked about the efficacy of the ablation. I did message both my cardiologist and EP who replied that I should just relax and wait until the results of the two-week moniyoor were completed so I obeyed his directions. Time will tell....Thanks again!
