My paroxysmal Afib has been worse the last couple of months - just returning to normal sinus rhythm a couple of times a day for short spells. My cardiologist is organising a Cardioversion for me, but what if I am in normal sinus rhythm on the day of this procedure ? Will they still do it ? I forgot to ask the doctor !

Cardioversion
If you are in normal sinus rhythm then there is nothing to cardiovert so there will simply be no cardioversion! As you are only reverting to NSR a couple of times a day then you may be in 'luck'! However if you are going along at a fast rate, possibly Atrial flutter, then that is a different matter and dccv can be done.
I've just looked at your previous post and it looks like your AF is pretty constant so I doubt that your cardiologist would have put you up for cardioversion if he didn't think it would be a likely scenario.
You may find if you post on the Atrial Fibrillation Association (AFA) site on Health Unlocked you will get more response to your queries as it's a much more active site and lots of helpful members.
I hope all goes well for you . If you want any advice etc on cardioversions then I'm your man (woman actually!) as I've had a grand total of 22 over 28 years!

Many thanks for your prompt reply Jalia. I was thinking along those lines, and as you say, my cardiologist must think I’m a candidate for Cardioversion. It’s just that after I saw him last week, I began to wonder if he realised I was reverting to NSR now and then. You know how it is after an appointment - you can always think of something you haven’t clarified ! Anyway, thanks again, and I bow to your expertise on the subject 😄. I never thought I would be hoping I wouldn’t return to NSR !
