Beta-blockers and Hayfever.

This is a bit Leftfield. Since age 15 I have had moderate hay fever,r UK. This year I have had virtually none and taken no antihistamines, just eyedrops now and then. Since April I have been on Bisoprolol 1.25mg which seems to be working well with virtually no ectopics(emay handheld monitor 3 times daily measurement}. I am not complaining! But has anyone else found this? Stay healthy. Michelle. x

Weirdly my wife and I seem to have developed mild Hay fever this year. She's on Bisoprolol for PAF and has been for some years, I'm not on anything. We put it down to the AZ jab.

Same here! I've been on 25mg of atenolol for over 20 years. Never had allergies of any kind until a month ago!

I get hay fever each summer since my teens. I've been on 2.5mg of bisoprolol for the last couple of years and have noticed zero difference in hay fever symptoms.

When I was on Bisoprolol in 2017 I did not have hay fever but since I've come off it my hay fever has returned this year. Not sure if it was a side effect of the stroke in 2017 or being on Bisoprolol though. I was not on Bisoprolol in 2018 or 2019 but did not have hay fever in those years. Had it slightly 2020 and a lot this year.

The weather this year has increased pollen levels though, so it may be an atypical year for hay fever.
