New guy. During heavy dose of influenza had coughing breathing short lasting problem. Diagnosed as AF. Prescribed 1 Bisoprolol 1.25 mg. taken in morning 2 Eliquis morning & evening. As this is the way makers advise the pills to be taken, I get very tired by Bisoprolol and wonder if any info. on taking it in the evening.as this would help my performance during daytime. Presently getting over Post Viral Symptoms. Sleep cycle is just starting to get back to normal.

Regards to all.

I am surprised such a low dose of Bisoprolol affects that much.I started on that amount and now 2.5Mg twice a day ,which I think does effect me a bit.

Cannot see a problem if taken in the evening, check by all means with your Dr first.

Thanks for reply, I do have a problem, diagnosed, with reaction to certain chemicals. However from other reply looks like I should just stick with it . Thanks for interest.

I've gone from 1.25 to 2.5 to 5 to 7.5 in a few weeks to reduce pulse rate.

First few days of increase body not happy fatigue headache etc but then seems to settle down and get used to the drug.

I used to take it in the evening, as suggested by my doctor but we are all different. Check with your GP.

I take 2.5mg of bisoprolol in the morning. It took me a good 6 months to truly get used to it. I sufferred with sudden bouts of fatigue and my sleeping pattern was messed up. Now, all is good. But, we're all different I guess.

Did you keep track of your blood pressure when you started the drug

Many thanks Tincool for your reply to my queries. I'm on 1.25mg and at 6 weeks the symptoms which you described match mine and have recently improved. As I feel less like either a Zombie or one of Dracula's patients , I will keep at it ! Once again ,many thanks for your reply. Much appreciated.

Hi Nick,

Thank you for your interest in my query. I seem to be having an improvement now about 6-7weeks and find an improvement in fatigue problems. I do have a problem with my reaction to certain chemicals which does not help. Again much thanks for your post.

I am also on Bisoprolol 1.25 and found that it took 3 weeks to a month for my body to settle and stop feeling so worn out. A heart event will wear me out but after a week or so my body settles back again and I feel 'normal' again. I work long hours and it has been good to feel normally tired rather than heart tired, I am beginning to know the difference now and know that the heart tired feeling will lift. I also take blood pressure tablets. I also take the Bisoprolol first thing in the morning as it was giving me weird dreams!

Keep going it will get better.

Hi Deadslow, Many thanks for your email ,very interesting. I actually have spot on blood pressure and full blood scan has everything in good position. Whilst suffering from very heavy Influenza ,lying on my back, I got some thick'ish sputon on my chest and tried to clear it ,perhaps a bit too violently and should have got out of bed. Continued" hawkin and spitten" , breathing rough ,out of bed and medically experienced wife, noted blueness in lips and elsewhere, definite episode occurrence. Local NHS Hospital cardiologist diagnosed AF. 1.25mgs Bisoprolol and 2 Eliquise . I have a diagnosis from Kings College Hospital of Atypical Chronic Fatigue due to chemical sensitivities, which I feel aggravates any side effects of my pills but feel that they are improving in the manner in which you described. I am glad to hear that weird dreams are not unusual and hope that the tiredness of the last 7 weeks will continue to improve. Thanks for your interest and best of luck!! Regards.
