For the past 10 months I have been having a weird "vibration" in my chest. I actually thought it was coming from our bed since we have a small motor to raise and lower the mattress, but while we were on vacation and away from our bed, I realized it was coming from ME, not the bed. The only way I can describe it is like having your cell phone on vibrate, but inside your chest! I notice it much more at night while I'm in bed because it's quiet, but I believe it's going on constantly even during the day. I thought it was A-fib, but my heartrate is normal when I check it. I've had heart tests done and even a neurological workup, but they have not come up with anything. My primary care doctor makes me feel foolish for continuing to ask about it, and she won't refer me to a cardiologist because she said all my tests have come back fine. My doctors have pretty much thrown up their hands, and I am beginning to think I'm losing my mind. I don't sleep well because of this, and I'm still worried it is something heart related. Has anyone else out there experienced anything similar? I am supposed to have surgery on my hand soon, and I'm nervous about being put under with the anesthesia since we still don't know what's going on.

Weird chest vibration
I have had this same thing for several years now. It’s called fasciculations or internal tremor. I worry about it being heart related as well, but cannot find a consistent pattern to blame on heart. My best guess is that it is related to OTC mess like antacids or PPIs like Prevacid.
I have had something like this for 9 months. Vague tremor occasionally during the day but I am woken every night, usually during a dream, with strong, very fast, pulse-like vibration in my left ribs below my armpit. I also can feel it in my stomach and have many twitches all over my body. Two trips to A&E, 24 hour holter found nothing. I have now been diagnosed with post-polio syndrome. Twitching is a symptom. I now think this is connected to essential tremor, triggered by adrenaline release during dreams, exacerbated by post-polio.
