Flecainide is no longer working for my AF; despite using what I think is the maximum dose of 400mg on some days.
I've had ablations but it keeps returning.
For the last month since seeing my Consultant I've been taking 100mg twice a day and an extra 200mg if I get a bad episode to no avail, it's really getting bad now.
Can anyone with experience of this same thing suggest another drug that has helped them instead so that I can raise the issue with my Consultant.
Thanks for any suggestions.

No help with a recommendation. Do confirm from experience what cardiologist told me couple years in advance. That eventually flecainide would cease to counter Afib. In my case he was spot-on.
I've decided flecainide is making me worse not better now so after a few very bad days increasing the dose in desperation to maximum; I have stopped taking them altogether today and had a clear day. It didn't occur to me at my last appointment at outpatients to ask if flecainide could have an adverse effect.
Do you still suffer AF? What did you do when Flecainide stopped working for you?
Fortunate so far. An ablation January a year ago has been sufficient. Cardiologist predicts there'll be an easier ablation for a single site of flutter some time in the future.
Now you mention future developments I remembered what my Consultant said at my first appointment 6 years ago - that if I waited 15 years the outcome would likely be a lot more successful as the understanding and technology on the ablation procedure is moving so fast.
