Kardia not working?

Does everyone else have a hard time with kardia? 9/10 I get unreadable. Does this look normal to anyone? I’ve tried googling examples. I bought the Apple Watch just for the kardia band and thinking its not worth it. I first tried the finger kardia and didn’t work so then got this.

Yes I get it a lot usually down to outside interference try out your phone & watch into airplane mode b4 taking reading it cuts out outside noise(but remember to turn it off airplane when done or no one will get hold of you haha) the sudden spikes down I was told was nothing it was outside interference. Unreadable could also be down to HR being outside the devices parameters of reading. I have the Apple Watch and now ecg is able to be took on it and it picks up AF slow & fast HR. Since this I’ve not used my Kardia device as it’s quicker just putting a finger on the crown to do ecg and you can download pdf for dr just as you can the kardia. But there could be other reasons why it says unreadable the above is just my observations of it. If my pacemaker is overriding I get unreadable too.

Thank you!

What do you use on your Apple Watch to monitor instead of the kardia ? It’s an app?

Hi AmbieBambie - I use my kardia a lot and like you find it very difficult to understand some of the readings as it is only a 1 lead type ecg so cant easily be compared to full 12 lead (?) ecg charts (I think). I get very few 'unreadable' results from the Kardia if anything I get quite a lot of 'is it your heart …' (I forget the wording) where it obviously finds my heart trace very different from my normal one, and 'unclassified' which is either a very odd reading or more often when my heart goes over 100bpm.

I do find it a bit odd that when sendng off some of the results for a Dr interpretation via Kardia that some come back as apparently just a lot of interference to the reading. I try to take most of my readings in the same way in the same place to minimise chances of electrical interference and generally take another couple of readings straight after which may show similar or more 'normal' readings.

Looking at your ecgs they look similar to some of the readings I get quite regularly and which - when I've looked back at historic readings have all been classed as normal - seems odd that so many varying patterns can be! Are your heart rate measurements over 100bpm if they are, depending on your Kardia settings this can lead to 'unclassified' readings.

Hope this helps.

If you haven't solved it yet.

Plan A: Ask someone else to try your Kardia.

Plan B: You try the Kardia, but persuade someone else to install the app on their smartphone.

A bit late to reply, but it looks like you might have low amplitude QRS in Lead I, which would make it difficult to interpret. Try a LeadII recording.
