Kardia readings that say AF

Hi

As discussed with a few of you here's one of my Kardia readings that say possible AF. I have had AF readings on readings taken five minutes apart too. Paid for reports say inconclusive, unreadable or ok. I had symptoms at the time of this report hence why I did the kardia.

Thanks

It is a very poor quality trace with the qrs complexes being so small they are indistinguishable from artifact so I agree it is unreadable and as such may give a spurious 'possible af' report. Certainly it does not confirm af but there is a slight irregularity that could be healthy sinus arrhythmia, although too poor a trace to be certain.

You need to get a better electrical connection between you and the pads

Thanks. With this one I was completely still and in a room with no interference so perhaps I need softer fingers! I left a five minute gap before I did the next one and that too said possible AF. I had a very strange heart rumbling the night before so it made sense to me. Do you know if the kardia with the dots on the pads picks up any better than the flat plates?

Thanks

It's the conduction between your fingers and pads that needs to be improved. If your fingers are wet or have watery lotion on it would help. The softness is not a factor. Try various methods.

Hello, thanks for your reply. Please could you tell me what low amplitude qrs complex means? I've noticed my ECG humps are a lot more rounded compared to my partner's who has the normal ECG appearance with more pronounced spikes. Thanks

The amplitude = peaks are very small so difficult to analyse. They need to be much larger. As DrDave suggests, changing the signal from left hand to left knee may help or right hand to right knee. This will change the ecg view of the heart.
