Lots of people find they're aware of their heartbeat when they sit quietly, especially at night in bed. I've had it and oddly enough taking a PPI cured it, must admit I didn't have it constantly though.

You could try Googling, constant heartbeat in ears.

If you are concerned (and I think it would drive me mad) I'd have a word with your GP.

Hi Anxiety63

I have been listening to my heartbeat in my left ear for more than 25 years. It's not constant but I get it every day and more so at night. It doesn't help that I suffer from regular attacks of Ectopic beats. However you can "Turn it off" Simply fold the top of your ear down and push it in to cause a plug, this will block out the sound of your heartbeat. The alternative is to purchase a good ear plug to insert in you ear (it needs to be inserted properly) and this will most certainly block out the unwanted heart beat. Sadly this doesn't work for Tinitus sufferers.

Hope you find some relief.

Mine started doing that for about 3 months. Right ear only but it went away slowly over a period of a few weeks recently. I have heard that thyroid problems can cause that and just recently I was put on Thyroxene for elevated TSH levels (6.6)
