Is it in my head????

Hi, just wanted to share and ask for comments to see if it’s just me???

Had my ablation 3 months ago and feel it has been a great success. Off all my meds, feeling good. Great to go out without the worry of going into svt.

Every so often I feel a little strange in my tummy and feel as if I am going to have an svt, or I get a little strange feeling in my throat .the thing is it doesn’t happen!!!!! Great I think BUT..... it doesn’t happen if I am deep in conversation with friends or doing something that needs concentration.

Sooooo I am thinking is it when I sit and listen to my heart and try and count my beats!!!!

Sooooo I am thinking it must be in my head, do I sound crazy???

Or do others find this.

I don't think you're crazy at all and believe the more attention we give to AF the stronger it gets. We just have to try and block thinking about it. As soon as I feel the slightest odd beat I immediately start taking deep breaths and almost instantly all is calm again.

Its good to hear that you're doing well after your ablation. Long may that continue.

Thanks so much Jean, yes hope it continues need to stay strong for my hubby Colin , he had his kidney out and they got all the cancer so they are concentrating on his heart now, he’s having the myoscan on Thursday to see if he needs another stent. Then they are going to tackle the two modules on his lung.

He got his new car this week so that’s raised his spirits a bit.

Onward# and upwards eh?

So pleased to hear that Colin has his new car now, yes that's a sure boost for him.

Do you mean nodules on his lung? My sister had cancer in one lung and had that part cut out three years ago and is fine now. Honestly, we never know what life is going to throw at us!

Wishing you both well.

Sorry yes I meant nodules lol! They said that they have not grown since his scan in October so that’s good and they are leaving it till September, they did mention cutting it out. They said his heart is his priority at the moment.

Thanks for your kind words Jean x

I was told you will feel as if your svt will start but it won’t

I was also told on my return to outpatients to try and not get obsessed by my heart rate as I did say I was getting tachycardia at times but not svt

I was told this is normal and would improve over time - and it has xx

Not crazy at all. I believe we all who've had heart issues have our own thoughts or worries. I have put total positive thoughts in my mind. You'll over come these thoughts!

Having recently had an ablation for SVT, I was told that I’d still get the feeling that an episode of SVT was going to start, but due to the electrical pathway now being burnt it wouldn’t actually happen. Maybe you still have the signs that it’s going to start, but thankfully it doesn’t. I imagine it takes a long time to accept that an ablation has been successful and to not be so tuned into every beat of your heart. Take care. 😊

Thanks Lola, it’s a great site this as I was not told this so thank you for being so reassuring , yes it’s great that it doesn’t happen. Let’s hope we all have a nice calm summer this year. X
