So last AF episode last September. Put on bisoprolol two weeks ago and my palpitations disappeared. I doing great then woke up this morning, rolled over and bam back in AF. So annoying. Waiting for cardio version.

Did you by any chance turn onto your left side, that always sets AF off for me?

Yes I did. That’s interesting. Cardio version done. Back in NSR. Dr upping bisoprolol to 2.5mg.

Glad to hear you're ok now.

A lot of people with AF discover that sleeping on their left side will trigger an attack. Have you looked at changing your diet to a more plant based one and avoiding all artificial additives? Some people find that taking magnesium will help reduce attacks too. I add it to my bath in powder form and also have an oil spray .

I shall avoid sleeping on my left side. That in itself is annoying as I favour my.left side. I already take magnesium taurate but I stopped when I started on the bisoprolol two weeks ago. I will start taking it again. I also had increased my coffee intake thinking that everything was hunky dory as the daily palpitations I was having since September had stopped. I will reduce that back down to one cup a day. I was probably being a bit too casual about it. I will also telephone my cardiologists secrets tomorrow and see where we are at with my referral. Still haven't had a letter 5 months since I was originally referred.

I suffer with episodes of tachycardia and My mum has AF, she has tried every drug going and now the only thing that stops it is a cardio version so she has had quite a few! Some of the triggers she has noticed are, eating a very large meal, MSG, caffeine, getting over tired (too many late nights in a row), alcohol, getting too hot. I don't really know how many of these are 100% linked if any but usually when she looks back she can point the finger at one of these. It's very frustrating for her though. These are also all things that can start my palpitations off.

Oh no... that is a very low dose of bisoprolol though, so they have a lot of room to go up on it. Also when laying on your left side or bending over your heart kind of swings.. is what my cardiologist told me.. that’s what sets off my PVCs. It’s stinks.

The lying on your left side thing is very interesting. That's two now that have said it's not a good idea. I had a decent nights sleep last night once I got to sleep, but I'm obviously feeling a lot of anxiety at that time of the day and particularly in the morning before I get up as this is when it happens. Major bummer though as I favour sleeping on my left side. I have to get used to sleeping on my back and right side now. Taking my magnesium in the morning again now as well.

Aside from my unfortunate AF episode on Sunday, one thing is that my palpitations have stopped for over 10 days now.

I rang the cardiologists secretary yesterday and confirmed that I am on "the list" but he is 4 months behind. I should expect to receive a letter with my appointment some time this month. Back to the waiting game of waiting for my referral to the cardiologist.
