Hi I’ve written on here a couple of times. I suffer with predominantly PACs. I’ve had echoes which are normal and seen a cardiologist who told me to just ignore them. I don’t really know my triggers although do find that they worsen round my menstrual cycle. I do get anxious about them which I know can make it worse. One of my major anxieties is that they will suddenly become AF which I’m terrified of getting. Has anybody suffered with PACs which turned into AF if so how many were you getting? My last Holter showed 3%. My cardiologist said they don’t worry until it’s 20%. I think I wouldn’t get so wound up if I didn’t feel them. Think I’m driving my husband mad! Thanks in advance for any advice

PACs and AF
Hiya I’m new to this site but I was literally just saying to my partner tonight I swear my palpitations are stronger and a lot more frequent around my period! I’m terrified of it turning into a trip to a&e . Do u mind me asking how old u are I’m 41 soon 😊
Hi I’m 39 I have been told they can be more prevalent around your period. I dread certain parts of my cycle
It’s awful isn’t it 😫 I’m worried sick with it . After last episode I had I’ve decided to give up wine 😏 decaf basically having a life just until I know for sure this is the dangerous type of tachycardia . Did u have an echocardiogram
Yeh I’ve had an echo all normal. I only drink one cup of tea a day. I only drink on the weekends my cardiologist told me I didn’t need to give it up as I don’t drink much his best advice was ignore them easier said than done. Is it ectopics you get? Have you seen anyone for it yet?
I hope I can go back to having the odd glass of wine! Do u worry a lot?i had a 72 hour monitor n it came back with this ..😏
Lol couldn’t send pic?
I go through phases of when I worry more usually when I’m PMSing I start to get anxious about them and what they will lead to but that’s probably because they become more frequent.
Basically it said one short broad tachycardia episode 9 beats at 190mp plus rare ectopics
Oh ok I have just had ectopics recorded. I do get occasional sensations of a paid beat which lasts seconds then stops with a thud but they have never been caught on a monitor and again cardiologist didn’t seem concerned as I have no other symptoms
That should say rapid not paid
Not sure if it will work for u but I use to get loads like 40/50 a night
I started to take b12 supplements and they have settled right down after a couple a week still get the odd one bit on where near as bad,
Mine where hurting are one point
Thanks I will take a look
They are awful put me off the gym and everything
Once you notice them you start counting them as well 🙈🙈🙈
Yes i feel like this!! Did you have low b12 ??
No I don’t
Eother do i but i will try a b12 supplement. Will you try medication?
I have tried bisoprolol but didn’t make much difference and my cardiologist advised against it as he didn’t feel they were that bad. So I take magnesium and as others have said on here I think i need to work more in relaxation methods too
Teally they didnt help and here i was going to try it! I feel them and some days up to 7 times a day. You?
No I didn't all came back normal I tried magnesium didn't work for me
But b12 tablets after a few week have helped me a lot
Im having that affect with magnesium also. My b12 is at 300 so maybe i will try a b12 tablet. Can you overdose on b12 ? Been happening and an off 4 yrs how long did you experience them
I don’t know maybe you need to speak to a doctor regarding doses they will be better informed

Dr says myb12 is normal and i have had i injections in the past. Any b12 will do?
Hollands and barrett ones there like £8 for 100 tabs; yeh my b12 levels where normal not sure if there is some thing else in them; u can only give it a go nothing to lose really except £8 if they don't work took a couple of week to kick in
So just b12 only? Yeah i will my b12 is up and doen and used to get injections but wow as a kod mones last 4 yrs and they scare the absolute shit out of me and stopped me from being happy ots fked
I would not worry too much, listen to the consultant and try relaxation ,in what ever form suites.
Music etc.Watch the coffee and and any drink.
Omg clara. I feel just like you. How long have u been feeling rhese thumps for been 4 years on and off for me. They are bad again and i am crippled bt them all i think about. How do they every go away!!!
I can relate to how difficult it is to “just ignore” ectopics! I get them frequently at certain points of my cycle as well. Makes sleep difficult, and definitely increases anxiety. My primary doctor and my EP have both told me that they are benign, just a nuisance, etc but sometimes it still feels like the end of the world.
With that being said, having this problem has motivated me to slow down and take my health more seriously. I had always just pushed though and ignored stress and anxiety , but I’ve had to learn to deal with it properly. Meditation and therapy help me cope, as does checking these message boards and being reminded that I’m not alone.
Hope you are able to get some relief from your symptoms!
This is a super old thread, but I just wanted to know if you’ve been able to get yours under control? I’m like you - mine get way worse from ovulation to the first few days of my period. This is a new thing for me. Began having ectopics in 2020 and got so much worse in 2021. 30 years old and mainly have PACs as well. So frustrating and scary!
Hi sorry to hear you are suffering with them. Mine remain some days worse than others today is a bad day. I find exercise helps but I’ve just learned to live with them as cardiologist told me that they were not a cause for concern.
