Since being diagnosed with PAF in 1989 I have swallowed a cocktail of medications prescribed by GPs, cardiologists and A&E doctors. Some have been fine, others average and one or two downright scary. At my cardiology appointment yesterday it soon became clear that the 24 hour tape results had set alarm bells ringing. I have been taken off my 1.25mg a day Bisoprolol immediately as my day time heart rate never gets above 45 and apparently dips at night. I mentioned having Bisoprolol as a PIP but I may as well have suggested taking nitro-glycerine judging by his reaction. I have to see him in 6 months and if there has been no improvement or I am feeling unwell he will fit a pacemaker. One of my daughters who thinks she is a comedian told me that if that happens I will have to find a bloke called Gerry. Ha-ha. (Only older members will get this). So here goes.

I get it and it did make me laugh. Sorry to hear your heart rate has gone down so low, though it sounds like you're being looked after now.
Brilliant I love that I am old enough to appreciate the joke no kidding so many of us out there with these problems think they would have found a winning formula by now good luck.
Thank you. It has only been a month but my heart rate is 62 and not 34 so I have far more energy and no dizzy spells after ectopic beats.
