Bleeding after total hysterectomy

Hi ladies I’m 3 weeks post surgery of total hysterectomy and I’ve had a water infection for the last two weeks Ive been on 3 different antibiotics and I’m also bleeding (light pale red) only a panty liner needed but I didn’t have any bleeding in hospital and only spotting week 1/2. Have any of you experienced the same? I’m following the guidelines but I feel so restless. Sorry for the graphic information but I guess I’m just looking for some reassurance. I did mention it to my GP but they seemed to think it was fine? Happy New Year to you all x

Happy New year to you too 🎉 Sunflower1968.

I had my TAH+BSO mid February last year. I did not experience any bleeding. But for UTIs,,,,nonstop. This is due to the catheter for starters. Then if you're using a public seat-on toilet it's also another risk. Cover it well with TP and flash before using.

Check with your ObyGyn for the pale bloody stuff. You do not assume anything after undergoing this major surgery. Find a good Dr. to add onto your surgeon, who will walk with you this journey .

Otherwise welcome to the club and just tell it as it is in order to find the right help that you need to see you through the pain to recovery process.

Stay positive

Stay blessed

And just to add, if you had your surgery while the flow was on, they say that has to clear as well slowly.

Bleeding of and on is normal. I had spotting to light bleeding of and on up until week 6 post op. As long as you are not bleeding heavily the doctors say it's normal. Try taking it easy so your body can heal. Trust me i know it's hard to do. I noticed mines changed when i was doing a little to much and that was my bodies way of telling me so.
