8 Weeks after Hysterectomy Salpingectomy I still feel pain

My name is Lunje, 46 years old. I still get this chill pain along the abdominal incision and especially on my left side, radiating to the back and knee. Then bloating or feeling so full and pain even when I take water. Secondly, when I pee, and stand up to wipe myself, I feel more pee coming out in bits. So I usually leave the toilet paper there for a moment to absorb. It's like something is pressing my bladder to drain completely. And what about the hard stool? I eat high fibre foods but aint helping.

Kindly help me understand

Thanks

Lunje

Hi Lunje,

I had very similar feelings at your stage of the recovery period. My whole incision area and the top of my left thigh was very sensitive to the touch and even when water from showering hit it. I am now 3 1/2 months after my radical hysterectomy and those feelings are finally subsiding. Even the bladder problem I had as well. My bladder still isn't what it used to be. I feel nerve damage was done to my bladder as I don't have the sensation that my bladder is full. Therefore, I make myself go to the bathroom about every 3 - 4 hours just in case. Hoping that will improve as well. I see my surgeon at end of May and will discuss this further with him. Hang in there, I was told that it could take up to 1 year to feel better and I believe it now. Hope my info helps you to relax a bit. Good luck!

Hi Fretta,

Thank you for the encouragement. I do research every now and then. And I've come to realize that if the doctor had shared all the pre-ops and post-ops, no woman would accept to go through surgery. But the worry would be, for how long could we bear the pain and even live with it? It's a blind spot and the fact that we're"women", the donkeys in the home, we feel deprived of our usual lives of hustle and bustle. And that's why we try to think healing is a walkover in the park, not realizing that our lifestyle has changed for good! We can nolonger function the way we did. This makes the healing process elongated.

For once as women, we need to take care of ourselves!

No one will!

Hence,,,,,let us tone it down alittle bit till the body regains it's required healing and strength.

Thank you Fretta for your tips. I feel the weight has been shared and lifted off my shoulders.

Happy Easter.

Lunje.
