I went to my hygienist who mentioned gum disease. I was shocked as allways have looked after them and taken pride in doing so.
She asked was it Hereditary, did l dieabetes ? Since l have read that antidepressants an also cause gum disease. Has anyone experienced or has any thoughts?

I have observed, after I lost 5 teeth, that most of the people follow same pattern of brushing, that is,take some paste on brush and start brushing vigorously, sometimes upto 10 minutes.
I have tried this new way and got rid of dental problems since many years.
Just take paste, massage it on gums/teeth ,leave it there for about ten minutes, keep mouth closed and take bath, then just brush for one minutes.
You may not be following your post now (so I will also post it separately in another thread ? but what form did your gum disease take ? I am a vigorous brusher. Over many years I lost the five leftmost teeth on my upper left and similar on the right apart from one molar. Over time little some little lumps came up on the gaps mainly on the chewing edge and the inner cheek side. I can't remember the name given to the condition but was told it was not a concern. Over the past year they got bigger and swell overnight and decrease again as the day goes on. I am aware of them but they are not exactly painful.I rub Gengigel or Bonjela on them.
