I'm not sure either way since our bodies are all unique, in regards to your question. As for the role of food and its affects on sleep, you can always try the elimination diet briefly to see if it helps. If you're not interested in cutting out too many stuff to find any culprits you can zero in on the commonly listed foods that may produce inflammatory reactions or could possibly affect your sleep.

Also, it may be a case of adding certain foods rather than eliminating to improve your sleep. I for one have deeper sleep when I have salmon or sardines for supper. Dealing with sleep issues is awful and I hope you find some improvements.

Hi Runedrun26 ,

Welcome to the Healthy Eating group. :-)

Here are two articles/websites that are talking about what type of foods are/aren't okay for a diet when having RLS. The first article/website is from the restedlegs.com site and says that eating black beans in a chili with tomatoes around or closer to bedtime can cause the body to have a harder time to digest and not be easy to sleep. The healthline.com website's article says that a diet with spinach and other dark leafy greens is good for RLS. I hope these articles help and you feel better soon. Please show them to your doctor at your next appointment with him/her.

Oh interesting - I wasn't aware it was a sleep thing!

My partner had it for many years, but his only seemed to be an issue during the day.
