This is my salad with tuna, fake bacon bits, peanuts, almonds, Basalmic fat free dressing, and black and green olives. It was really good and cool for the warm day. For afterwards, I had homemade popsicles made with frozen berries, mixed berry Greek yogurt and 2% milk. The popsicles were made today with my Nieceβs help. The popsicles are 16 carbs. The entire meal is 30 carbs.. ππ

Quorn do version of Bacon. It's OK. Definitely better than eating the real thing.
Hi Leah, that looks so delicious and healthy. I love olives esp when they donβt make them too salty. 30 calories meal is very light and great for dinner as our meal should be upside down pyramid. I am not big on sweets but the idea of your popsicles is pretty balanced with probiotics and loaded with anti-oxidants. Enjoy your dinner. π
Thank you for saying that about the salad. I enjoy salads with or for dinner any night. 30 carbs. is very low carb. for dinner, but great for blood sugar control.πππ₯
Youβre welcomed. Yes me too I like light dinners with either salad, vegetable soup or very light carb. Thank you for raising the awareness in food intakes because everything is accumulated as we age. I havenβt made dinner yet as it is still around 4pm right now over here. But hereβs one of my typical dinner dish. Itβs the clear crystal noodles with veggies and sesame dressing. π
Oh yes me too. It is not gluten free I donβt think. This is typical Vietnamese vegetarian cold noodle salad. Have you tried papaya salad as one of Thai popular dish? It can be spicy if you add some chilis. I think Iβm just gonna have some vegetable soup tonight and strawberries with Nutella as dessert ππ
I will for sure at later date. ππ Hereβs another Thai dish homemade: vegetarian curry with jasmine rice I had for lunch before. I like being one with the kitchen when Iβm hungry ππ€£π
Thank you for saying that! Itβs fun having my Niece help with meals/treats for everyone. She helped add the Greek yogurt and frozen mixed fruit with 2% milk. Was really delicious.
We had the salad with tuna and it was very light. Never felt stuffed afterwards.πππ₯
That's fantastic to hear. Tuna is one of my favorite types of fish for any big salad. It goes well with a lot of salad dressings when mixed in or on top of the salad greens.
i understand that tinned tuna though tasty does not have omega 3 oils as they have been processed out . tinned sardines or pilchards are better. maybe you are eating fresh tuna which does contain the omega oils . i love all fish
Hi Leah you canβt beat a big salad so nice one and frozen berries with yogurt even better. ππ
Yes! You're absolutely right about the frozen berries and then the Greek yogurt mixed in for the popsicles. They were really good for a warm evening's dessert. The salad was made with some of my favorite items, so that made things easy, too, Hidden . Hopefully, we can have another salad in the next few days from now. It's going to be very hot this weekend starting tomorrow.
I'd love to send some of the warm temps.! We have the air conditioning on at full blast today and may do the same this weekend. The weather forecast doesn't show any rain coming, but they're sometimes 90% of the time wrong, so we'll see.
It depends on how big the bowl you want to use and if you have the ingredients in the house. We may have to buy more bagged lettuce/mixed salad soon when we do our weekly orders online for the stores.
