Nickel in tap water

My friend just found out his chrome tap is leaching nickel into his drinking water. I also have a chrome tap in the kitchen should I just replace it and not take the risk? Are there brands or something I should look out to avoid?

Hi hillrunner78 I think that you'll find that running the tap for a few seconds gets rid of the water that may have traces of nickel which is used for chrome plating, usually for this to be a problem the chrome is worn and the water corrosive.
