I was just about to post Christmas greetings on here when I got a phone call from my daughter to say they cannot drop round tomorrow morning with presents as she has just learned that friends they saw last week are all unwell and one has tested positive for Covid and now she has to get a test herself. Just another gift from the year that keeps on giving!
However, I hope everyone has the best possible Christmas they can in the circumstances and let's pray for a better New Year.

Hello maria40 your daughter is 100% doing the right thing so I’m sorry about your disappointment, I hope your daughter is OK and her friends recover soon.
This is all very worrying for all of us. I’m not seeing family this year as staying safe is paramount for all of us and it is what it is.
Merry Christmas to you as Christmas isn’t cancelled it’s just been disrupted...🎄
I bet you were really disappointed as you were looking forward to your daughter popping round and then its off at short notice!
We decided to not make any plans this year and perhaps make them another time after we had an upset back in September over summer holidays getting cancelled and decided after that it was best not to make any plans for the foreseeable future and that was the right decision.
Perhaps you can rebook with your daughter for another day to help take the sting out of the disappointment.
What a disappointment for you, but there are more of us about. It has been a bad year, and for those who only meet at Christmas, even worse. Still, we can take comfort in the thought that, by making a small sacrifice this year, we will have more get togethers to come in future.
