Diet Day 1

Hey Everyone,

Starting a new diet, hopefully with less fat and carbs, and more fruits and veggies. Since the temps cooled down, I made a butternut squash soup using some lite coconut milk. Delicious!

My evenings are the most difficult- typically my husband and I hit the couch to watch a tv show or two and I CRAVE unhealthy treats and snacks... anyone else struggle in this area?

Thanks -

Hello pleased to meet you.

Great good to hear diet but need to explain a few things certain aspects.

Problems is mentioned craved snacks in the evening then may be to space out evening meal.

I take it slowly. Brain registers to stomach when full after twenty minutes or a bit longer.

So if continuing eating all the time courses one after another full will not register.

Simple science is that cutting out food groups can actually making you hungry and losing weight is a science.

Fat is not the enemy we need fats Olive Oil, Omega Three and Six Rapeseed Oils, Nuts.

Also in building up your bowl not plates bowls.

Portion food as required yes more veggies and fruit but carbs are important too.

Pasta, Rice, Bread all important factors in healthy eating.

All necessary they are not the enemy either unless you add cream and huge amounts of oil and sugar fats in jar sauces.

Which can be a problem.

Rice, Pulses Beans, Pasta are useful whole grain wheat varities are best but expand in the body so being full.

Making own sauces tomato based helps.

I should explain long term mental health addiction gained ballooned weight used local wellbeing services, mental health service.

Gained qualifications in diet, nutrition food science.

I would look community services where ever you live lots life style courses learn about techniques cooking not does not have to be hard.

Volunteering in charities food banks resource centres mental health charities some have cafes and bistros for people to visit.

Learnt a lot.

I would also add as mentioned portion control important.

Means 40 % carbs Rice Pasta 40% veggies 20% meat or protein.

Snacks energy boosts if hungry. Snack attacks.

Apples Pears sliced Natural or Greek Yoghurt Honey Cinnamon sprinkled on.

Use full fat Greek Yoghurt and Natural low fat is not worth it just a small portion of yoghurt.

Cereals Wheat Biscuits, Milk whole with Nuts Walnuts handful . Nuts Walnuts may be deemed fattening actually help heart circulations. Know to help cholestrol.

Peanut Butter is 50% fat but has important polyunsaturated fats monosaturated fats combine with wholemeal bread, a glass of milk and Apple helps.

Question to you are you having yogurt fruit bread after every meal, all of these help digestion boost immunity.

Add a slice of whole meal bread to a bowl of soup home made can advise give recipes cheap freezer friendly lots of them.

Bread in bowl add home made soup pour over and eat very filling and helps a lot.

Spices herbs certain ones they help digestion desire for hunger.

Fennel Seeds used to curb appetite add Basil, Parsley, Rosemary dishes.

Spices anti inflammoratory. Turmeric, Ginger, Cinnamon, all use digestion stomach issues.

Use leafy greens Spinach used a lot has a enyzme to curb appetite.

Great like Curries use always tomatoes based recipes these contain Lycopene immunity and boosts anti toxidents prevents infections cancer.

Prebiotic Priobiotic foods are Onions, Garlic, Leeks, Pulses Beans Oats use these as well fruits berries important.

Fruit veggies certian ones beta carotene such as Carrots Peppers Sweet Potatoes.

Tip buy most veggies mentioned frozen cheaper and diced ready to use.

Sweet Potato, Butternut squash available .

Helps the body adjust fight any underlying health issues while dieting.

One problem is the metabolic rate of your own body system if you consume the food you eat this what it is called.

May be different to your partner, so be aware of that.

Please any questions please ask me advise help support many members on lots of websites.

Pleasure to meet you
