At times when you are caught up in your busy schedule, the desperation to feed your empty stomach compels you to eat anything you can lay your hands on. But is it right to eat whatever you like, whenever you like? The answer is an obvious No. Eating all the right foods at the wrong time can create a lot of trouble for our gut.
It is not just about eating healthy food and avoiding junk food in the morning or knowing what is good and bad for your health. The goal is to understand how to optimize the food you eat to improve digestion and maximize absorption of key nutrients. This guide will help you understand what to eat and what not to eat on an empty stomach, so that you can plan your food time-table properly.

Thanks for sharing this article. I was interested to see that yoghurt wasn't advised as a food to eat on an empty stomach. I tend to put about a desertspoonful of it on my yoghurt in the mornings, with some seeds and fruits, and seem to tolerate it ok. I love the contrast of the hot porridge with the cooling yoghurt - I think it's a nice combination in terms of enjoying the experience of eating it.
But I am wondering whether to perhaps change that, and eat the yoghurt later in the day. I'll think about it. Food for thought.
Thanks suramo - I just learned how to make buttermilk the other day - by adding lemon juice to some milk and leaving for 20 minutes, and I used it in a recipe - it worked very well.
