New Year Tradition

Someone asked me to share a photo of our New Year's Day lunch, so here it is! Not very healthy I'm afraid...

We have a tradition to eat steak pie on New Year's Day. This one happens to be gluten free as well :) we're lucky to have a butcher who caters to coeliacs!

Hi Cooper, this is a great meal and a Scottish tradition, it was Leah Activity2004 who asked you to post it, I believe, Leah is GF as well. I wouldn't say it was unhealthy but a balanced meal as there's lots of lovely veg there and I think its brilliant your local butcher making GF steak pies, so support them as they support you, it beats mass produced pies any day.

So nice one and thanks for sharing this great photo 😊

Thanks Jerry! Most of the veg wasn't even in the photo - I had it all in a serving bowl to avoid getting the pastry soggy :)

We're suckers for supporting small businesses that cater to coeliacs :)

I agree with Hidden , Cooper27 . If you find a person or group of people that supports you and your health issues, then I would support that person/group of people, as well. It makes life health-wise a lot easier for everyone.

Fantastic picture of the pie and vegetables. It looks good and I would love to have a meat pie when I have a chance to try and cook one in the year. Hopefully, there will be some time. :-) Thanks for sharing! :-)

Looks healthy to me! Our butcher makes gf sausages, wish he made pies as well.

It's the cheesy potatoes I servedwith it... A bit of an indulgent way to use leftover cream and cheese from Christmas!
