Hi so basically I work full time and feel sometimes in the week I eat okay but not fabulous as I feel I have no time to make proper meals so I would just cook something frozen and then the weekend comes and I could have a take away every day of that weekend!! I’m really struggling with this I feel sometimes fruit and vegetables in supermarkets can be expensive or I forget to eat stuff and it goes off! Any one got any tips? would like to lose weight but in a cheap and healthy way? Thanks!

Hi Bh2018

Welcome to the Healthy eating forum. Maybe have a look at this post first, as there are some great replies there - and I'm sure others will reply here in your post too - but I thought you could have a look through the other post to get some initial ideas - also have a look around our Pinned posts and Topics - and see what interests you.

The link below is to a previous post which asked for 'Healthy recipes while on a Budget' - and the replies are helpful:

Frozen veg can be healthy to eat and quick to cook too. also there is less waste. I often dont feel hungry and have to throw out good food too.Its such a waste and i get annoyed at myself. also frozen fish Iv not had it myself yet but my friend Zest who just replied to you eats it and says its very tasty. Try when you get frozen foods to buy the healthiest stuff so that your eating a healthy diet. If you like salmon then you could get some in tins. If you like chickpeas and those kinds of beans then you can get oranic ones in tesco they come in cartons and i rinse them before i use them they cost 70p. also you can freeze fresh fish and bake it in the oven at least it wont go off. just take it out the freezer the night before so thats it defrosts and that cooks in around 10 minutes.pasta is quite nice too and cooks in a relatively short time around 12 minutes. a supply of dates and some dried fruits can last quite a while and nuts are very good for you too. try to make a list before you go shopping so that you know what your going for. do takeaways not cost quite a lot of money. The thing is you dont really know whats in them there could be lots of fats and butter in them and salt. not really good for you if your eating them every day of the week. you want to fill your body with food that gives you energy and not ones that make you feel tired or are hard to digest. I hope you get plenty of tips from the links that have been left. wish you well. love grace xoxo

sorry its not every night of the week you have take aways its the weekend. xoxo
