My first thought- grains/carbs are addictive, thus eating for no reason other than to satisfy a probable addiction. cbsnews.com/news/processed-... Others here will give you great advice on how to get your eating habits changed. So glad you found this forum; lots of support here.

Iv2sew is right, processed carbs have to be removed. The are inflammatory and on top of excess weight are to be avoided. This means no more pizza, of any type, unless homemade with wholewheat flour. No more cakes and other deserts. These are fundamentals that are hard to achieve, but well worth the effort. Don't expect this is going to happen overnight. Don't expect help from friends and family. They will tease and taunt you with scrummy to die for chocolate cakes etc. Don't trust food in restaurants either. If you are serious then any steps in this direction must be good thing.

Just one more suggestion. Sweet potatoes with nothing added, especially no butter are totally tasty and highly nutritious. They can even be eaten raw!

I just tried raw sweet potato, it was surprisingly tasty and great for mindfull eating as takes ages to chew :)

Hi there, I think that you have to change your relationship with food as you are eating the wrong foods for the wrong reasons and you are paying the price.

The food we eat is our fuel when people live on junk food they are over fed and undernourished so constantly craving nutrition.

So I'd start off by trying to eat healthier versions of your favourite meals and keep the portion sizes down.

Instead of sweets buy a bag off grapes as they are sweet and pack a nutritional punch and just take things gradually one day and one meal at a time and gradually you'll find that you crave healthy foods as you realise how much better you feel eating healthy nutritious meals.

So well done for doing us its the first step and hopefully the first of many positive steps towards and new healthy slimmer you.

Jerry 😊

One reason you are craving food is because your body is clearly missing some nutrients. Swap your bad foods for healthier options, and dark leafy greens are top of my list, is a must because they contain such a wide range of phytonutrients.

Start eating coconut meat in the morning along with egg.and if you are a non veg, take fatty fish and non veg items during lunch and dinner. Take 80 GM's coconut meat during lunch and dinner too. Take a lot of cucumber and carrot, tomatoes salad with every meal.

0 carb's. Only Fat and protein take longer time for digestion and so you will feel as if your stomach is full. You would not feel hungry to take junk food. Maintain your calories intake @1200-1500 calories if you want to shed weight. There is no short cuts please.

Or else let us wait for some science / invention/ Magic such that one Obese person can transfer some weight to another lean and skinny person like me who would like to add few kilo's. 😁

What Jerry said is totally true, eating junk food leaves you hungry for nutrients as you're not getting enough. so try to make healthy versions of them.

Use a smaller plate to keep your portion size down. My husband has a bigger plate than me, we used to have the same size and I was eating far too much! Since swapping to a smaller one it's been great, I still feel I'm eating a lot as my plate is full, but in reality its a lot less.

Not what you're looking for?
