My midriff could get out of hand so It really has to go! Time to make targeted changes to my eating and drinking habits to back up the exercise (wk 5 of couch25k). Useful ideas welcome.

Hi 66future

I hope you're enjoying the Couch to 5k, and great to hear you're on Week 5 - hope it's going well. Have you seen the 'Eat Well' pages from NHS Choices - might be worth a look:

nhs.uk/live-well/eat-well/

We have lots of Topics in the Healthy eating forum, that you can have a look at - and there is a Topic called Healthy eating and exercise too - so maybe you will be interested in participating there and in other areas too.

Regarding your 'midriff' - maybe complement your running with some Strength Exercises to target your core conditioning? There are some 'toning exercises' (short 10 minute ones) in NHS choices as well - I will pop back with the link - here it is:

nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/1...

Wishing you an excellent week.

Zest :-)

Hi 66future, to me the most important things is you've literally taken the first step and thats the way to do it, one step at a time.

Obviously what we eat is important so I won't state the obvious except your'e in good company on here for all things healthy eating and exercise.

Jerry. 😊
