Hey guys! My name is Collin and I'm new to this forum. I've always been interested in healthy eating and fitness but I don't really have anyone I can talk to about it with in my family. My eating habits are pretty bad (like most teenage boys). I still live with my parents and I'm going off to college in about 3 months so I'm really wanting to start college with the right habits before I'm on my own.
I guess the question I'm asking is how do I start healthy eating habits? My parents buy all our food and everything. How do I cut out the things I eat now, but still manage to eat things I enjoy? I also want to start exercising. Not necessarily working out, but I want to get fit.
Thank you guys so much. Hopefully I can turn my diet around before its too late!

Good on you for thinking and making an effort to do this.
There are topics on the right of the page that might help you out.
Ask questions on here about it all, lots o great people are here to help you along the way.
Dude, if you are a teenager, just go out and be active. Your metabolism is on your side at this time of your life. Do fun stuff. Play football. Do parkour. Lark about. Dance like your ass is on fire. Spend as much time as possible outside in the sun and fresh air.
As regards eating: again you have the most leeway you will have in your life right now, but you are right it is time to ingrained good habits. Eat meat and fish, vegetables and some fruit, nuts and seeds and stuff, and keep the processed foods for treat occasions. Remember it is what we do most of the time that makes us, not what we do some of the time.
Welcome to the Healthy eating forum, and good luck with your goals. You've already had some great suggestions - and maybe have a look around our Topics and Pinned posts to see if anything interests you there as well.
If you are needing to build up your running stamina, look up couch to 5k (C25K) which is a 9 week programme designed to build you up to running for 30 mins continuously.
In terms of healthy eating, I think the most important thing is learning how to cook. Most guys I know found their metabolism was on their side until age 20, when it started to catch up with them! But if you know enough about cooking, and make sure you include plenty of variety of vegetables, you'll be able to nip any weight gain in the bud.
I agree with Cooper27. Balanced nutrition plays a very important role in your fitness strategy and defines 80 percent of success. I find using a tracking app is best, I use the free MyFitnessPal but others are available. The daily scanning or logging of food, the daily update of steps direct from phone and a weekly log of weight, gives me all the incentive I need to continue my journey to better health. Six weeks in 21lb loss, and now imagining what I could achieve over the next few months.
