Good morning everyone, I know it doesn't look or feel like the 1st of March but it is and it's National Nutrition Month, so it is 'our' month. In reality most members treat everyday as a nutritional day because we know the importance of not just satisfying our hunger but satisfying our bodies needs through correct nourishment. Short term gratification over long term gains, which's many peoples nemesis.
To me Nutrition symbolises the vitamins, mineral and micronutrients our bodies need to stay healthy and nourishment is about the food itself and how the proteins, fat and carbohydrates nourish our bodies. So to me nutrition and nourishment go hand in hand and the secret is to get the right balance for our needs and tastes.
We are what we eat and we all know someone who is over fed and under nourished. I was pleased as I hadn't thought about a photo to accompany this post and just grabbed some of my fruit and veg from my fridge/store cupboard.
Enjoy your day everyone and keep safe in this treacherous weather. And if anyone would like to add to this then please do. π
Hi Jerry.Thank you for sharing. When I go shopping I fill my trolley with veggies & fruits, sometimes I struggle to fit them in my fridgeπbut we all know how important is to eat them & include in our daily diet..
Some beautiful veggies and fruit there. Some great information too. I'm looking forward to enjoying some nutritious foods this month - and celebrating the fact that March is National Nutrition Month!
Thank you Zest, they'll all be eaten by the end of the weekend I expect,π
I think that you are another shining example to others over healthy eating...π
Thank you Jerry for your post and what a good one it is. I, like many others on here, am mindful of what I eat but do on occasions have the odd naughty treat but that's not too often.
Love your photo of what's in your fridge, so colourful and I could put a bowl of baby tomatoes in front of me and eat the lot, I absolutely love them and as for red peppers, don't even go there, they don't last long in my house as I eat them with almost everything.
