Hi everyone, looking for some advice I have a 3 year old who is a fussy eater. I would like to introduce heather meals both in mines and his diet. I have tried him with fruits and vegetables but he gets upset when trying him with new foods.
Thanks for reading 🙂

Not easy if he’s used to eating food that isn’t healthy, but don’t give him any alternatives that aren’t.
Try sweet veg such as squash & sweet potato. Make a fuss about fruit & vegetables being special. Try making foods that are easy to eat such as soups & stews.
Avoid all c**p kids food as most is junk.
Employ bribes such as special dishes for healthy foods. I found anything would be eaten with chopsticks, or added Greek yoghurt or apples. 😀
i used to blend the veg when i made spaghetti bolognase for them..all they could taste was the tomato sauce.. but it was packed full of vitmims and minerals from the fresh herbs, carrot, celery, onion , garlic, i also added finely choped chicken liver and bacon.
most children dont like fresh veg, so from babies we learn to grow veg from seeds in pots as we did not have garden then.. they would eat everything we grew but they picked them when they where only about an 1" high. coriander was there favorit.
most children love to drink juices so never any problem with fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice always on the menu.
making sure they get a good amount of exercise is also very important for them to build up a good appetite.
Try getting him involved in food preparing and cooking. Try talking about where all the food comes from and get him involved in identifying the fruit and veg and helping fill the trolley when shopping. Dont worry if his tastes are narrow now. Just as long as he is not filling up on highly processed sweet or salty foods. And limit snacking between meals.
Do you all sit down as a family to eat ? That can really help as he then sees the people who are important to him eating the foods he might reject. Even something like making the topping for a pizza Base can help introduce new foods. Try not to make a fuss about his eating. Suggest a try of something new then don't mention again if he doesn't like it.
I am not sure where dottie gets the information that children need little fruit and less veg than adults. Perhaps she can share the research. I have not seen the before.
