Help! Fussy eater menu?!

Hi, I am the fussiest eater going. I eat zero salad and can't stand the stuff. The only veg I eat are cooked carrots and peas and on the very odd occasion swede. Can anyone help with some low fat low calorie diets, that don't contain fish or any of the above? (I also only really eat chicken and mince meat)

Try making different soups.

base them.on the things you like and gradually add a little of the veg you don't. Try carrot and sweet potato. Add a little smoked paprika if you like that.

pea with mint (add a little spinach or diced courgette for extra green ness and when it's all cooked and blended you would never know)

carrot and swede soup add a few red split lentils, when they are cooked and blended in you won't know, cheap, filling and low fat.

make chicken curry add chopped carrots and peas or chickpeas. Eat your curry with slices of banana and a finely chopped apple for extra nutrition.

Just keep trying little tastes and add bits of things and it will get easier :)

Thanks! I hate banana, chick peas, spinach and all the rest of it that's why I find it difficult because I know people say try it but I know I'll only do it once and not have it anymore because I want to enjoy the food I eat! It's going to be a difficult one but I shall give what you've said a go! Everything's worth a try! Thank you!

you sound like me! I never ate anything, hated everything, but then very slowly and gradually, over years, things changed, and as i got used to it i started to tolerate and even like things. . And now i love most veg and most salad.

Hi Hannah21 ,

I noticed you asked where the 'weigh-in' for today is - I think you might be referring to the NHS weight loss forum - and their daily weigh-ins? If so, then a link to Friday's weigh-in is here:

Good luck for your weigh-in!

Hi I agree with all the advice you have been given so far. I too was fussy but the transformation I have gone through with age is remarkable.

I will now eat anything that’s good for you

I had my first avocado this week 😉and I am 59

Being on a charge of eating plan for life is the way I think about loosing weight. I am not on a diet because that implies I will go off the diet

It’s all in the head really

Good luck keep your chin up and try tastings sometime New once a month to start It can be fun just looking at something in the shop thinking I won’t like that button may be surprised one day

Because I want to cut down on fat and I will be using the calorie count weight loss method I don't like celery or spinach or cucumber! Im awful because I also have an issue with textures of food, so I've always struggled with smoothies! I'm honestly such a pain! Thanks for the advice though!

You say you like minced beef so I would say buy the best steak mince or ideally mince your own and then you will know it is lean. A panful of mince, diced onions, carrots and celery with some worcester sauce, two tablespoons for 500g mince, good gravy, oxo cube and knorr cube, with jacket potato no butter needed, makes six lovely meals for my husband and I. This may be what you do already but may help someone.
