My dad would have honey and cinnamon every morning on toast....he said it carved his cravings for sweets...and he was a diabetic. The Dr said he could have it just dont overdo it..he used it for years with out problems. I put it on my toast and oatmeal in the morning..it tastes awesome. But I want to try the drink with hot water..good luck everyone.

Sorry to say but a diabetic should not be eating bread at all, unless it's a specially made low carb/low GI type made without wheat. Cinammon is OK but honey is definitely not good in terms of GI and sugar content.

Tell your dad to skip the bread and smear some cinnamon, coconut oil, or cacao onto a banana or apple. Fruit is suitable for diabetics. It also has plenty of sugar if that's what you're after. Although what I find in most people who are hooked on it is that fruit isn't sweet enough for their sugar craving - years of refined sugar and processed junk food makes your body immune to the mild natural sweetness of fruit. It takes a while to adjust.
