“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”.

Magnus Hippocrates 460 – 370 BC.

This saying attributed to him is as true today as it was then. My photo shows just a few of the things Nature has provided us with. In addition there are all the greens, cabbage, spinach, and Brussels sprouts together with the other root crops, onions, shallots, parsnips, and turnips. Then there is that wonderful tasty wholemeal bread made from 100% wholemeal flour. To all that add a proportion of meat and fish and you have everything you need to maintain good health.

With all this wonderful food surrounding us nobody needs to buy manufactured food which is created primarily for profit by the food industry.

Make eating an enjoyable occasion. Tibbly

I completely agree with you that eating should be an enjoyable occasion. :-)

and no need to diet - eat as much as you want (with all that fibre, you won't be able to eat too much!)

BUT - no chocolate, no lollies, no sweets, no cakes, no fancy sweet breads, no biscuits, no juices or sodas, no icecreams :)

Agree. Just a couple of squares a day is enough.

I usually have one, but one of my favourite brands doesn't have the usual mold, so it's big bits on some days. :)

I saw a hospital dietician when I was first diagnosed with a hypoglycaemia. I was astonished with the diet sheet given by the dietician had Dark Chocolate on it. I have taken the dietician’s advice ever since!!!

I love your reply Bazza1234 but don't deprive yourself of the odd treat; the occasional piece of black chocolate or an icecream won't do you any harm but don't eat these treats every day. Certainly no sodas as you never know what's in them. Tibbly
