Hi Bazza1234 ,

That's an interesting article, thanks for sharing it. I prefer to eat the whole fruit, than have a fruit juice.

Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Zest :-)

Absolutely right Zest, fruit juice is refined food, as you say we should eat the whole fruit. I have an orange every day after lunch so long as they are in season then I transfer to grapefruit and don't put sugar on it.

Spent the morning in the garden but now it's raining. Tibbly

Have always loved grapefruit especially the pink variety, but sadly not allowed them anymore because of medication :(

What a shame. As a matter of record what medication conflicts with grapefruit? I always like to have this sort of knowledge. Tibbly

Grapefruit juice contains components that can affect how the body uses some medicinal products, statins being one, I can remember reading it in one of my other medicants as well but can't remember which one.

Cranberry isn't good if you take blood thinning meds like wharfarin.

You can't have grapefruit with statins

Interesting read. I assume a smoothie made out of whole veg and fruit would be better, mind.

Beating up frozen bananas in a blender makes for a nice substitute for icecream :) Top it with some nuts and berries.
