For the question about what to get for exercise, have you checked the internet?

Perhaps try posting this on HU's walking group?

I find my fitbit excellent for monitoring the amount of activity I do in a day. Heart rate monitors are expensive though. Do you have a need to keep check on your heart rate whilst exercising ?

i got a fit bit heart rate monitor for £14 from wowcher. it was really great and let you see all the steps you took and how well you slept and deep sleep and light sleep and even if i got a text message on my phone it would buzz round my wrist when i was out. I lost it and was really upset as it did not have a buckle round the wrist it only had two studs so be sure to get one with a buckle as it so encouraging to see how much exercise you have had and makes one want to keep it up or do better. i was so dissapointed when i lost mine i was out shopping and carrying lots of bags and it must have fallen of. im still looking for a good one and will make sure that i get one with a buckle. i also had to download an app from the app store. love grace xoxo

hi junior19. i just bought the fitbit charge 2 and im just getting it set up now, its really good as it even reminds you to drink water if you set that up and also just to move if you havent moved in a certain time. its not waterproof just in case you wanted to go swimming. you can also change the straps on it too which is handy. also tells you if you have text message and sets up alarms. it does so much more i think it will take a while for me to understand it all. i have watched a utube video on how to set it up so that was pretty straightforward also i got the app for it. also has your heart rate on it. its has a nice strong buckle so i wont loose this one as the last one only had studs on it, i just thought i'd let you know if there is anything you want to know about this fitbit charge 2 let me know. i hope you find one the meets all your requirements. love grace xoxoxo
