hey, im indian too.

1) Drink more water

2) less oil and salt in curries, more vegetables

3) track your calories (MyFitnessPal app is very good)

4) No junk food such as chocolate, cookies, crisps , white bread , maybe like one small cookie in the evening if you want but try and cut them all out for good.

5) More fruits and vegetables, these fill you up for longer and contain many essential nutrients

6) Food like dhal is great for protein and satiation, eat less rice and more vegetable curries. No breads like naan or poppadoms or samosas or pooris (chapattis are ok) . Just vegetable curry and a little rice

7) Drink less sugary milky teas and coffee and substitute with peppermint/green tea.

8) exercise (this is not necessary but helps, just 30min walk or jog a day)

9) more sleep

10) BE CONSISTENT. it wont happen in a day. it will take at least 2 months for u to see proper results.

good luck

Hi Sahil123731 ,

NailQueenxo has given you some useful suggestions.

In addition, you might wish to have a look at the NHS choices website pages - there are some further suggestions for weight loss there:

nhs.uk/livewell/healthy-eat...

The NHS 12 week plan is useful, so worth a look and you can find details of it in that link, if you want to have a look.

Also, if you like the idea of a weekly weigh-in, there is a community on Healthunlocked called 'NHS weight loss' - so that would be worth joining - if you wanted extra support in a friendly and supportive group.

Hi,

Very good suggestions.

I would like to add - green tea three times a day - mid morning - mid afternoon and before bed - Green tea helps us stop binging on food and also curbs night time eating.

good luck

Try it - It works for me. You don't loose much weight - but it helps you get disciplined and avoid binge eating.

I lost 40lbs by 0 processed sugar, white potatoes or rice, white flour.lots of veggies. No bread except "Ezekial "sprouted.Dont know if you have already gone on this. The other is pump up metabolism by walking or more activity.Good luck!
