Hi 311247,

The NHS 12 week plan is good. I know you've tried lots of diets, but as you've joined the Healthy Eating forum, and it's linked to the NHS Choices website, it could be worth having a look at the plan to see what you think.

The NHS weight loss forum is also a great community for having support in losing weight, so do check it out if you want to.

Wishing you a great week ahead, and good luck with your goals to reduce your weight in preparation for your forthcoming surgery.

Lowcal :-)

yes

I joined Slimming World and I've lost 3 1/2 stone so far... I think support is critical, and you really have to want to lose weight to the extent where that outweighs your love of food. I haven't found it easy but it helps to have others around who can share strategies for keeping on track.

How can you eat all them calories on slimming world and lose weight.I found the consultant was no help.? MJ

What I found is that if you look hard enough you find the advice that you need to fill two thirds of your plate with 'speed' free foods, such as green veggies and carrots and such like. It's easy to make mistakes, I know, I've done it all... Basically what they're saying is that you can eat as much as you like as long as you're eating the right foods (I have a whole cucumber some days, but there aren't many calories in a cucumber!). It's when you eat a lot of meat and you include fatty bits, for example, that you don't lose weight.
