Well I'm new to this site and was hoping someone could give me a bit of guidance.
I have been struggling with my weight for some time now and although I try to eat healthy as well as getting to the gym a few times a week, I am finding that shift work in the hospitality business makes this a struggle.

Have you any time for batch cooking? I make a few different meals on Sunday to freeze down. That way I always have healthy food ready in minutes, I also have hardly anything to wash up during the week.
I usually use a vague meal plan which also helps me not to waste the fresh produce I have.
I cut up veggies and fruit ahead of time for a health snack that is always on hand! I also eat nothing that turns to sugar if I don't burn it off, except for what is in fruit or veggies. I walk my dog about 2 miles a day and try to strength train at least 3 times a week. I have managed to lose 70 pounds this way and keep it off for 7 years! Don't give up - you can do this!
I do try to cook ahead and often do, the problem with shifts is not what and how much to eat its having time to eat, I work in a busy, under staffed kitchen so often go long hours with very little or no break, drinking coffee and soup from a mug as I go (which has usually gone cold) I know I should make a point of having a full break where I can sit down to eat and let the meal go down but this is very often easier said than done. especially when I am a member of management and the buck stops with me. Having as best a balanced diet as possible trying to keep within the recommended calorie intake and eating at regular intervals.
