I set out on the "Day 7" hike from Nutfield to Dorking West but was immediately faced with winding roads and reckless drivers. It put me in a funny/down mood which stayed with me for a good few miles but thankfully, after some glorious views from Reigate Hill (I haven't captured the images from the video footage yet - I got some great drone footage), I made my way downhill expecting some castle ruins. I'd seen "Skimmington Castle" on the map so made my way to that. I don't know why it didn't register with me that this would be a 'castle' at the bottom of a hill. I didn't question it at the time but after finding the 'castle' I had a lightbulb moment. Skimmington Castle is a pub! I decided to get lunch which lifted my mood immensely! The second part of the walk was much nicer after filling my belly and talking with friendly people who were enjoying the lovely garden at the pub. I'm calling the picture "the meal that saved Day 7!"
