My husband had a burst aneurysm clipped in October last year. I would be happy to share our experiences if I can be of any help.

Hi Garnish,

You can see that there are lots of people on this site to share experiences with and get advice. Just ask the question and let us help you. I had a SAH and two aneurysms clipped (one ruptured and the other one not), coming up for my 2 year anniversary at the end of April! x

Hi, I had an aneurysm clipped back in 2000 and was monitored every 2 years until 2008. The checks stopped until I requested one in 2010 as I was experiencing similar symptoms as before. It turned out that the clip had moved and another 10mm anuerysm had developed further along the blood vessel. I finally had the anuerysm coiled last year. After my first anuerysm was clipped (I was much younger) I went back to work after 4 months.

Best site i have found that helped me to answer that question is Behind The Grey. It has helped me search back posts on feelings and sensations and know that other people whve survived a SAH have had similar.

My feelings 13 months on are that I aim for a new normal. I can't get back to who or what I was before because so much has changed but I do have a chance to build a new normal. Take things gently as with any brain injury and be kind to yourself. Lots and lots of water.
