I had a brain hemorrhage 3 years ago. I find it strange that i don't remember anything about first 2 months critical care and neurology wards. I don't remember my family visiting though i know they would have. I remember a little about time in rehabilitation. Has anyone else had same memory problems,?But the main worry i have now is sickness. It started at least a year ago. I get couple of minutes where i know i need to get to toilet I'm going to be 😷 sick. After i am fine i can eat if i want. This happens every week or 2. Several days I'm ok then starts again. Gastro specialist said not Gastro problems had mri. Neurologist does seem to relate to this.
Anyone else have this?
Why is it happening?
Thanks

I have to use cyclizine most days which are anti sickness tablets.my balance isn't great so I get like motion sickness and also the pains in my head can also make me feel sick.maybe ask GP for some.if you do get them and you need them to work quickly I just stick them under my tongue..hope this helps.
Thanks Roundhead 1974, I will speak to gp again and say about cyclizine. My balance isn't great. I don't get pain in my head very often so i must feel lucky. Thanks again
In my experience little to no memory of the first few day/weeks at hospital is normal.
I barely remember that month! A week in hospital and being at home looked after by my wife is all very vague, and what memories exist are often without time or vision.
I have a memory of some kind voice telling me they needed to cut some clothes off, I remember a nurse opening a toilet door as I’d attempted to go myself! And so on!
Thanks RogerCMerriman, Memory is so strange.A month in Critical care and month on Neurology wards don't remember one thing very strange. Still i have to be grateful i got through it all.
I hope you are getting through it all. We must be strong.
I had a brain haemorrhage in early 2022. Whilst I don't have the nausea you are suffering with now, I can relate to your time on critical care. I was on neuro critical care for two months, plus a further month on ward based care. I too have very little in the way of memories of that time, and what recollections I do have are wrapped up in a fog of delirium with which I was suffering with at the time.
With or without delirium, I understand it is quite common with ex-critical care patients to have memory gaps around their time in critical care.
I hope you manage to get your nausea under control.
I had a TBI myself during childhood so know that not remembering is normal (and in some cases a blessing otherwise you would forever be traumatised by the painful memories of the exact moment that you had the injury). I was in life support for 3 weeks so at least 3 weeks were a complete blank. What happens after that can vary as you also get lots of medication, etc. I had to be tube fed through my nose and other times I had a drip so I couldn't eat at all. All these factors can probably also cause you to feel nauseous. I hope you feel better soon
